take a moment for yourself

Pregnancy Yoga can help to:

reduce stress and anxiety

increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth

decrease lower back pain, nausea, headaches and shortness of breath

body positivity

work the Pelvic Floor muscles

to form and develop a relationship with baby

Recommended by the NHS and private healthcare practitioners, Pregnancy yoga or Prenatal yoga is increasingly popular as women look to stay fit, improve their mental and physical strength and flexibility plus prepare for labour.

I offer a safe, holistic approach, meeting the needs of the client. My approach incorporates birthing positions, movement to relieve aches and pains as pregnancy progresses, strengthening and stretching to prepare the body for labour, breathwork and pelvic floor exercises. I can’t stress the importance of breathwork enough. During pregnancy breathwork is used to calm the nervous system therefore relaxing the mind and body. During birth, focusing on breathwork helps you to remain calm and listen to your body’s needs. Calmness, focus and clarity.

As a Yoga Teacher and Doula, I believe, and I have witnessed first hand how yoga is a fantastic way not only to prepare your body for birth but also helps relieve possible anxiety and depression which may be heightened by significant hormonal changes during pregnancy. You are not alone with this, I support pregnant women to connect with their changing bodies in a safe nurturing space.

I work 1:1 or in small groups with those who have a regular yoga practice and want to continue to practice throughout pregnancy and those who have never set foot on a yoga mat. I aim to make yoga accessible to every-body.

I am trauma informed. I often work with those pre and postnatally who are in recovery with eating disorders, addiction, grief & mental health diagnosis.

Client Reviews

Gin is just the best - she taught me all through my pregnancy and recovery after and reinvigorated my love of yoga. She’s a calming presence but pushes you hard. Beautiful inside and out, I highly recommend her

The prenatal classes and workshop helped me to prepare mentally and physically for coping with childbirth. I found the techniques that I learned in the class very helpful to have as tools when I needed them. It was also good to work on my recovery from pregnancy and birth during the postnatal yoga classes.

Virginia creates such a warm, inviting, and open atmosphere in her yoga classes, with a great combination of yoga, breathing, and birth preparation exercises. I always left feeling light and airy, whilst feeling more grounded and ready for anything. I'm looking forward to postnatal yoga with Virginia soon!
